Virginia Career Works — Hampton Roads is the front door to the region’s workforce system. Through a network of full-service career centers, we help job seekers of every background find meaningful work, and we help employers build the skilled teams that keep Hampton Roads moving. Every service is funded through the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) — so there’s no cost to the people and businesses we serve.
What you’ll find at a center
- Career coaching & assessments — one-on-one guidance to identify your strengths and map a path forward.
- Training & credentials — funding and referrals for programs in high-demand fields.
- Job search support — résumé help, interview prep, and direct connections to hiring employers.
- Computer & resource access — on-site workstations, printing, and application assistance.
- Support services — help navigating transportation, childcare, and other barriers to work.
Who it serves
The centers are open to everyone — adults, dislocated workers, young adults, veterans, and employers. Specialized teams support priority populations, including veterans and individuals facing barriers to employment, with tailored, one-on-one attention.
